Mark Your Calendar - Holiday Musical to Provide Descriptive Audio
Harrisburg, PA -- Tri-County Association for the Blind (TCAB) will host their 2nd annual holiday show at the Capitol Dinner Theatre located at 1300 Wayne Street, Harrisburg. "It's A Wonderful Life", a holiday Christmas classic will be performed Thursday, November 30th beginning at 7:00 p.m. This classic holiday play is sure to provide heart-warming entertainment for the whole family.
In addition to providing wonderful holiday entertainment, the musical will feature descriptive audio services to make the program more accessible to people who are blind and visually impaired. Bob Alexander, a long-time volunteer and familiar voice to TCAB, will provide descriptive audio during the performance.
Descriptive audio provides descriptive narration of key visual elements, which are inserted within the natural pauses in dialogue to help individuals who are blind or visually impaired to better understand or to picture everything taking place in the musical. A limited number of transmitters will be available for use or attendees can bring their own walkman/portable radio. The equipment to provide descriptive audio is provided by the Telephone Pioneers.
Tickets to attend the holiday musical are $25 each and include the show only. Proceeds from this holiday musical benefit the services provided by Tri-County Association for the Blind. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Danette Blank or Laurie Thompson by calling TCAB at (717) 238-2531 or order on-line on the agency's web site.
