Greater Harrisburg Foundation Awards Grant to Help employ People who are Blind or Visually Impaired
Harrisburg, PA -- Tri-County Association for the Blind (TCAB) is the recipient of a $5,000 grant awarded by the Greater Harrisburg Foundation in conjunction with the Foundation for Enhancing Communities. Funds from this grant will be used to purchase equipment that will upgrade the Fulfillment and Mailing Service Department at Tri-County Association for the Blind (TCAB).
The new equipment will expand opportunities for people who are blind, visually impaired or otherwise disabled, to attain and retain employment by providing training and work experience on equipment commonly used in commercial mail houses and mail rooms.
Our mailing services are only part of the full service we provide in the fulfillment and mail service in our production facility. Fulfillment services include warehousing printed material for businesses and fulfilling and mailing requests for that information, whether it is requested for 1 individual or a mass mailing. Fulfillment services also include repackaging , order processing and shipping of orders.
We also have a fully automated mailroom that can provide a full range of services that include; folding, envelope insertion, collating, tabbing, addressing from electronic media, stamping and delivery to the post office of letters and newsletters.
The new equipment purchased with the grant from the Greater Harrisburg Foundation in conjunction with the Foundation for Enhancing Communities, will enable us to process approximately 70,000 mail pieces monthly using the most cost effective Post Office services available.
Our fulfillment and mailing services have grown steadily thanks to an increase in new customers like the Pennsylvania State Museum as well as long standing relationships with existing customers like Tyco and the Capital Area Visitors Bureau.
